Cancelled Games at Kingswood College
08/12/2018

Waverley Basketball wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the cancellation of junior matches at Kingswood College today, 8th December.

On arrival this morning, our Supervisor discovered one backboard and ring was damaged and could not be placed into position for competition.  There was also a hand written note which seemed to be from Friday night saying ‘no games tonight,’ leading us to believe the school did not know of this issue before the weekend and it was out of everybody’s control.

Waverley has a great relationship with all venues and we regularly book Huntingtower if a school informs us their venue is unavailable.  Unfortunately it was too late to obtain keys and access to Huntingtower, so this wasn’t a viable option for today’s games.  Furthermore, for your reference, we cannot book this weekly due to the ongoing bookings the school has with other users and events, which is why WBA uses it as a backup venue.

WBA contacted Club Presidents and other committee members via email and text, and called as many people possible to inform teams of this unfortunate disruption.

As per our abandoned games policy found here, the results of games will be recorded as draws.

Waverley Basketball apologises again for any inconvenience today.
