CHAMPIONS - Youth League Men win Grand Final in OT
13/08/2018

The Falcons must have enjoyed the close finish in Game 1, and wondered how much closer things could get.

After a thirlling one-point win to open the series, the Falcons Youth League Men closed out the series with an unbelievable overtime win in Game 2 at Sunbury.

The Jets had not lost a home game all season, and it took the whole 40 minutes, and another five after that, the change that record.

Dylan Larkin made a game tying free throw in the dying stages of the fourth guarter to force the extra session, where the Falcons managed to get their noses in front.

Molloy, Larkin and Frederickson all had big games to lead from the front as they have all season, with a host of other players stepping in with valuable contributions.

The win caps off an outstanding season for the Falcons under coach Elias Palioyiannis, who made their way down from the top flight Victorian Youth Championship in order to get more games and minutes into some of the younger Junior Falcons players.

The Falcons Big V campaign has now concluded as the State Championship Women lost a heartbreaking elimination final to Souther Peninsula by just two points.
