NBL1 & BigV Falcons

Champ teams open their account
30/03/2017

The Falcons Men and Women both enjoyed good quality wins on the weekend. Coming off Round 1 losses, both teams bounced back in style and on the back of a number of good contributions.

The Championship Women hosted Bulleen and recorded a strong win. A host of double figure scorers and a good four-quarter defensive effort meant the Falcons enjoyed a decent advantage throughout the contest, a noted improvement on Round 1 when much of the heavy lifting was left to Tegan Cunningham.

The Championship Men then took on the Whittlesea Pacers and again held a good advantage on the back of a monster quarter. The Falcons were led by import Desmond Simmons, and returning star Chris Arkell, who were both on fire from the field.

The Championship teams are on the road this week as they look to continue to get wins.

Meanwhile the Youth Men bounced back from a couple of bad losses to start the season to record a valuable win on the road against Blackburn.

The Youth Women were outclassed up the highway in Bendigo, save for a career best performance in Big V from forward Mia Parsons, a good sign looking ahead.

You can catch the Youth teams at home this Sunday, April 2. Women at 12:30pm followed by Men at 2:30pm.
