Waverley’s commitment to providing Basketball opportunities to all areas of Melbourne’s multicultural community was recognised at the Basketball Victoria Awards Dinner.

The WBA was awarded the ‘Most Inclusive Association’, largely for the work in including members of Melbourne’s Sudanese community in all aspects of Waverley Basketball.

General Manager Mike Bullock accepted the award on behalf of the Association, and made special mention of the time and effort put in by the coaches who facilitate the involvement of these young Basketballers at Waverley, many of whom live in Melbourne’s Western Suburbs.

The time and dedication from some of Waverley’s most committed members was also recognised, with a number of Waverley people receiving service awards, included Mike Bullock’s platinum award for 50 years’ service.
