The Big V have announced the player and coach of the month awards for June.
The Falcons are once again well represented with Brigitte Ardossi and Ivan Platenik both taking home Player of the Month in the Big V State Championship league.
It is an exciting time for the Falcons Big V State Championship sides, with both teams well in the mix for finals, which are just three rounds away, and it is a great time for these big names to be hitting top form.
The Falcons Men play at home this Sunday, July 14, at 2pm against Sherbrooke.
Here is what the Big V had to say about these two players:
Brigitte Ardossi (Waverley Falcons)
June proved to be a most successful month for Waverley and in particular Brigitte Ardossi. The Falcons all 4 games to jump into the top four and the WNBL star dominated with averages of 21 points and 13 boards per contest, taking her game to a level that no doubt Waverley was looking at when they secured her services for the season.
Ivan Platenik (Waverley Falcons)
We all know the qualities of Platenik and his importance to Waverley’s an-nual finals aspirations and during June those talents came to the fore. Over the stretch, Platenik averaged 23.8 pts and 10.8 boards per game, reminding everyone just how effective he can be at both ends of the floor and that the Falcons are a genuine contender with him steering the ship.
