Under 12 Girls Make Grand Final

Continuing the theme of a very successful weekend for the Waverley Girls at the Nunawading tournament, the Under 12.1 Girls made it all the way to the Grand Final and nearly grabbed the win. Grant Haffenden sent us in this report:

The Under 12.1 girls (currently unbeaten in the Victoria Junior League 1) played in Division 1 of the Nunawading competition, and competed against teams who play in both VC and VC reserve.

Coached by Claire Landby, the girls played exceptionally well, aside from one draw, the girls won every game prior to their Grand Final match against a strong Diamond Valley.

The girls played really well and were up at half time.

At the end though, the girls were narrowly defeated by 7 points, but they played with great determination and confidence.

Well done Claire and the girls. You are wonderful representatives of the Waverley Falcons Basketball Association.
