Under 14.1 Girls A Grade CHAMPS

The Under 14.1 Girls continue to blaze a trail in their marquee Championship Season. Fresh of their qualification for the top notch Championship top 10 division, the girls took out the A Grade Grand Final at the Nunawading Tournament, defeating the hometown Spectres in the Grand Final. Team Manager Leanne Ching sent in another fantastic report:

The 14.1 girls coached by Brendon Gordon and Oscar Mackechnie won the Under 14 A Grade Grand Final at the Nunawading tournament on the weekend.

The team played 6 games over Saturday and Sunday to finish with 5 wins and 1 (2 point) loss to Maffra.

The Grand final was a very exciting 36 - 32 win over Nunawading 1 in extra time.

Nunawading 1 has been a constant rival of the team and the result has always been close, but this tournament was the first time the Falcons girls had come through, by a mere 2 points during the tournament and 4 in the final.

The weekend was full of many highlights for the girls personally and certainly as a team.  New plays were tried and honed, every girl was on the score board and everyone gave their all.

The 14.1 girls now head into the Championship division of VC, having finished in the top 10.  The tournament win gives them a great confidence to start the second half of the season.
