The Under 14.1 Girls had a quality weekend at the Norwood Easter Classic, making the most of some high level competition and enjoying the experience, writes Team Manager Leanne Ching.
The U14.1 girls travelled to Adelaide for the Easter Classic again this year, hoping to enjoy themselves as much as last year.
The girls were competing in the Championship division of the tournament, competing against some of the best teams from Adelaide and Melbourne.
The girls started their tournament on Friday evening against the strong local Forestville team. Going down by 18 points, the girls were very competitive for 3 quarters.
Saturday saw 2 games, against Eastern and Melbourne 1, again falling short, but producing some good scoring quarters along the way. Sunday morning the girls faced Bulleen 1, going down by just 9 points, but really matching it with the more fancied opposition.
The girls finished the tournament with a good win over Melbourne 2 in a consolation final.
Despite falling short on the scoreboard the girls enjoyed a great time together as a team. They also enjoyed supporting the U18 girls, going to a number of their games over the weekend. The Under 12 girls were also great supporters cheering on the sidelines.
