The Waverley Falcons are excited to announce the signing of former Waverley junior Brad Kelleher to further bolster their championship-winning roster.

Kelleher has just returned from the US where he played Division One College with Hofstra University averaging 8 points, 2 boards and 4 assists last season.

Prior to that he played NJCAA for Midland who he helped reach to the 2009 NJCAA championship game with averages of 9 points and 3 assists as a sophomore.

The speedy point guard has the ability to set up his teammates as well as shoot the lights out from beyond the arc; traits that make the Falcons even tougher to defend then before his arrival.

Coach Eric Minerve believes Kelleher will be around for a while and can continue to produce for the Falcons into the future.

“He’s a Waverley junior that’s come back and he will be the cornerstone of the group moving forward as he is fairly young and has years left in him”, said Minerve.

“Brad is a Point Guard, so with him and Sedale running around, it’ll make us tougher and it will add to our defense ability as well as to push the ball up the floor.”

Waverley’s lack of depth at the Point Guard position forced Sedale Threatt to carry the entire load at that position in both season 2010 and 2011.

What was seen as a potential Achilles heal is now deemed a strength as the invincible Falcons seemingly get stronger once again.
