Whilst missing out on the Gold medal game, the team had the opportunity to playoff for the Bronze last Sunday. In this game they met the minor premiers, Keilor Thunder, who had been dominant through the second half of the season.

In the game Waverley simply did not allow Keilor any respite, their smothering defence only giving away 5 points in the second half. They restricted Keilor to just 25 for the entire game, under Waverley's season average of points given away.

To put the cream on top, a final second "Hail-Mary" from behind the halfway line by Patrick Kennedy had the vocal crowd on their feet.

A great team effort from all players who played with discipline and intensity. This was noted by the opposition coach who in his post game speech credited the Waverley team with the best structures in the competition.
