WAVERLEY FALCONS 3 VS MCKINNON 3 GRAND FINAL
What a Fantastic Team Effort! The girls came into the Grand Final full of confidence after winning the last two finals to make it. The game started and we were on our way playing intense defence and shutting down their main players and allowing our offence to excel and score.
The half time score was Waverley 10 to McKinnon 4 and I believe that we could have been up by more at this point, but holding them to only four points was unbelievable.
The girls were excited and knew that they were one half away from glory but it didn’t come easy – McKinnon threw everything at us and started catching up, and the last ten minutes was a battle to the very end. The siren goes and we were in front. The scores Waverley 19 to McKinnon 16.
I would like to congratulate all the girls in winning the Grand Final and all their efforts throughout the season. IT has been a long journey and each team member made it possible for us to make the Grand Final. Well done girls.
Thank you to Elizabeth and Julie for their team managers role and all the parents involved. I would like to congratulate Rangi Adams on winning the MVP Award for the Best Player in the Grand Final, it was well deserved.
