After a very successful 18 game winning streak during the home and away season, the team battled Craigieburn in a dour struggle to secure their well earned spot in the Grand Final played on the show court at Dandenong on Friday.
With only 6 players on the night, the girls had their work cut out for them, against a very determined Diamond Valley 2 full squad. Whilst not being one of our better executed games, the girls rebounded well when it counted, and dropped a few 3pointers to take the title with a 15 point win.
Congratulations to coach Elias and the team consisting of Isobel, Eva, Claire, Bethany, Julia, Melissa and Melanie, on an outstanding undefeated season, culminating in two flags (Nunawading tournament and Friday's GF).
For some of the girls, it is the end of an era of playing junior representative basketball. We wish them all the best for the future.
