The 16.3 Waverley Falcon Boys entered the Queens Birthday Nunawading Spectres Tournament with only seven players, hoping to get some good practice against oppositions from higher levels.
Unfortunately, one player withdrew due to injury and another player only managed to play one game due to illness.
Therefore the team went into the tournament facing seven games over a two days without any substitutions.
We were concerned that it may be too tiring to keep up the intensity and team work displayed in the first few games, but instead, they played exceptionally well beating the odds and teams from much higher grades.
The boys managed to work their way into the Grand Final, and went on to become the Premiers of the 16 B Division. Congratulations!!
