The 16.1 girls team generally played well in the January Eltham Tournament. After having a slow start our team improved as the matches went on even though the results show otherwise.

Our first opponent, Warrandyte, were a very quick team and we were underprepared for their speed. Most of us were still in holiday mode and one girl  in our team had just returned from an overseas holiday earlier that day.

The next day (Saturday) we had a full list of rested players and an early game against Blackburn. We began to come together as a team and combined effectively  to have a great win. By the third and fourth game our team had tired and we struggled to maintain our game presence.

On Sunday morning we played Bulleen 2 in our final game.  We kept up with them for most of the game but couldn’t maintain the pressure until the final siren. We ultimately lost this game by 6 points with Bulleen 2 becoming the eventual winner of our division.
