Our very first tournament of the year and our team has tried their best to play well and fought their way through to the Grand Final. Lots of hard work and teamwork from every player. We won 2 games, lost 1 and drew 1 before we proceeded to the Semi-Final and Grand Final.

1st game:  Waverley 5 Vs Whittlesea 3 (Score: 33 – 19)
Our team played to expectations. Being the first game after a long holidays, our shooting wasn’t up to the standard and overall teamwork was a bit lacking. Our good defence kept us in the lead.

2nd game:  Waverley 5 Vs Eltham 4 (Score 20 – 21)
One of our toughest and early game in the tournament. It was a very tight and neck to neck game. Our team has problem with their game play. At the last 20 seconds, our team has the possession of the ball but failed to score which led to a 1 point lost.

3rd game:  Camberwell 2 Vs Waverley 5 (Score 19 -19)
A very low scoring game. We started off well but have a lapse  and Camberwell fought back. We missed our shots and we ended the game with a draw.

4th game:  Waverley 5 Vs Ringwood 5 (Score 22 -21)
One of our best game, very tight and neck to neck game. The game became a bit nasty with lots of pushing. Our team played hard and our defence was good. Our hard work paid off with a 1 point win which led us to the Semi-Final.

Semi-Final:  Waverley 5 Vs Camberwell 2 (Score 41 - 29)
We had to prove a point to Camberwell who we drew with at our 3rd game. Every player lifted to their games with very good teamwork. Our good defence and shooting led to a win by 12 points.

Grand Final:  Ringwood 5 Vs Waverley 5 (Score 28 – 29)
Our team played really well at this game. Lots of yelling from Ringwood coach at the sideline plus lots of drama from the scoring bench as well. Our players played hard and shot well. We led almost all the way. Our players determination has finally paid off with a 11 points win.

Thanks to all our players for their commitment over the weekend and to all of the parents for their support, and our team manager.
