The Waverley2 U12girls enjoyed their first experience of tournament play in the recent Eltham Dandenong Tournament. They played Collingwood in a Semi Final game and won a close one (26 to 13). This gave them the opportunity to play Eltham2 in their Grand Final game. However, Eltham stepped it up a notch and won convincingly (44 to 19). So, Waverley 2 were runners up in their first ever tournament – a fantastic effort!

In the lead up to the finals Waverley2 came up against Kilsyth 2 (27 to 13 loss), Eltham 2 (22 to 22 draw), Blackburn 1 (36 to 20 win), Hawthorn 3 (17 to 13 loss) and Kilsyth 2 (24 to 8 win).
All of the girls played very well, and gained a great deal of experience – most of all they had such a great time, with them all getting to know each other a little better.
