18.5 Boys Dominating Win

Waverley 18.5 boys cemented their spot in the top 4 of their division last Friday night with a dominating 60-37 win over Camberwell 2. After a lacklustre game the week before against Collingwood 2, the Waverley boys showed great determination in taking the game to their opponents.  With Andrew Pattison dominating on the boards, MVP of the game Nathan Coffey was involved in all areas of the game, grabbing rebounds, assists, intercepts and converting these into baskets . Tim Sheers again proved invaluable in the forward line, providing solid defense and finding the basket regularly. Lorgen Scott and Sean Seabrook continue to set the standard defensively and  their ability to “find the gaps” in the Camberwell defense was impressive. Two 3-pointers from James Morris broke the spirit of the opposition midway through the first half and setup the rest of the game for the Falcons. Camberwell had no answer for the speed and aggression of Ben Manolitsis and Gus Young who came off the bench midway in the first term. In what was a promising sign for the second half of the season, Waverley were able to counter Camberwell’s surges and did not let the intensity of the game drop at any stage of the match
