14.1 Falcon Boys Premiers

Premiers A Reserve

Congratulations to the Falcons 14.1 Boys Team for a sensational Victory in the Nunawading Tournament.

A big well done to our young team who worked hard throughout all 6 games of the tournament to win the Under 14 A Reserve Grand Final against a very determined Ringwood team. There were many tournament highlights including the strong work ethic of the four guards we ran at point; Charlie, Remo, Abe and Max; Max’s shooting (including 10 from 10 Free Throws), the hustle and bustle of Mitch Horne (my Tournament MVP!) inside the paint, ably assisted by Carter’s improvement in every game back to his best form for both finals, Chris’s good rebounding off the boards, Lachie Horne’s MVP performance in the Grand Final and a big thanks to the two boys who stepped up from East 2 to help up; Connor Schomburgk and Mitch Pollard.   Their contributions, both defensively and in scoring in the tournament, gave us the big advantage of allowing us to rotate all of our players through the bench for a good rest throughout the earlier games which certainly helped in our semi-final fight back and win against a very strong South Adelaide1 team.

Congratulations to Connor Schomburgk, Mitchell Horne, Lachie Horne, Mitchell Pollard, Charlie Smith, Remo Simankevicius, Carter Dickinson, Chris Kirton, Abe Kaplandjian, Max Pertzel, Patrick Stanton.

Thank you to our fantastic team manager Barbara Dickinson and all the parents that assisted in scoring and driving the players to all the games to ensure that our favorite falcons arrived as needed… safely, well rested, well-fed and ready for action!

HUGE thanks to Peter Horne and Peter Kaplandjian for their amazing tag-team effort in guiding and coaching the team while Mike quietly (most of the time) provided tactical support. (We all hope you find our voice again, Peter Horne)!

To the Stanton Cheer Squad:  thank you for your constant support and encouragement and devoting your weekend to cheering on the team… we look forward to welcoming Pat back on the court as soon as he is ready and cleared to play.

And to the U-14.1 Falcons:
... let's put the sensational team work and energy you displayed during the tournament into each and every game left this season and show the other teams in this competition just what the Mighty Falcons can achieve!!!

GO FALCONS!!!!
