14.1 Boys excel to VC

A well deserved win over Dandenong 2 saw the 14.1 team achieve our initial objective for this season in making Victorian Championship. The win was delivered by 9 boys who tried hard with all players making valuable scoring and or defensive contributions at various times in the game. My impressions are more consistent players on the night were Remo, Carter, Mitch and Patrick.

After a discussion at training the boys have set a new target to make the VC finals. In order to achieve this we need to be more focussed at all training sessions and more disciplined at Friday games. We must reduce unforced errors that result in turnovers, be more aggressive in our offense, and play to our defensive rules of SPVC - Stance, Positioning, Vision and Communication. Homework drills, particularly making shooting targets, must be completed successfully. You thought you worked hard to make VC...

We are a very good team and we have the opportunity to be a great one, but only YOU can make it happen.

A note of thanks to Peter Horne who is just fantastic, Mr. "Video" Min, our TM Barbara and all parents for their active support.
Many thanks to Michael and Jo on the score bench, and for Dale in overseeing all the scoring efforts and texting those that weren't there at the end of the game!
HUGE thanks to the Horne family for opening up their exquisite home for celebrations into the wee hours of the morning after the big win!
The boys could not have made VC without you all - please enjoy the season.
