U/18 Boys create Waverley History

Congratulations to the U/18.2 Waverley Falcons Boys team.  Friday night they won their qualifying match against Ringwood  WAV 65 - RWD 57  for a place in the Friday night VJBL Victorian Championship (VC) division.

With this win, the U/18 boys have qualified two teams into VC which has never been done before in club history.  For a small club with fewer drawing pool of players then the other big clubs within the state this is a fantastic effort and our congratulations extends to every player, their families, the coaching staff and people working endlessly behind the scenes to make it all possible.

Head Coach of the 18 boys age group Eric Minerve and Coach of the U/18.2 team Rod Denman have spent a lot of time and effort developing this particular age group, and are all very proud of the accomplishments of every player on both teams.
Ultimately, this means we will have 10 bottom age players playing VC in 2009 and inturn will be very strong in the u18 VC competition for years to come and also have a solid base of u18 top age players transitioning into the Waverley seniors next year.

This accomplishment is a big step in a positive direction with regard to the development inroads we are making at our elite representative Waverley Falcons program. This means a lot for our future elite programs and puts our club on the map as a program to be reckoned with.
