Three Grand Finals for Falcons at Southern Pen

The annual Southern Peninsula junior tournament has developed a niche market for a range of rep teams from all over the state looking to log a few more on-court minutes in the midst of VJBL grading phase one. With this in mind a buch of Junior Falcons teams headed down peninusla link for a weekend of basketball and not going to the beach.

Three Falcons teams advanced to the Grand Final of this year's tournament, following in the footsteps of ledgendary 1999 Under 12 boys Division 1 Grand Final (you had to be there).

Like yours truly on that fateful day, the Falcons unfortunately all came away as Runners Up, but these wounds heal in time.

The Under 18.1 Girls fell just short in a high scoring encounter with Kilsyth, bringing to an end a laregly successful weekend.

The Under 16.2 Boys faced an unfarmiliar foe in Phillip Island in their Grand Final, the boys fought hard but the islanders proved they are the Rhyll deal in the end.

Finally the Under 12.3 Boys made it through to the Grand Final, however the newly amalgimated McKinnon Warriors got the better of them on this occasion.

The Falcons then returned up Peninsula Link with the tournament a seemless memory, fading like the Gold Links Rd exit in the rear vision mirror; facing an enduring sunset, beaming them back into the reality of VJBL grading, which has one round left before crossovers.
