The Falcons Nest looked better than it ever has for the big 40th anniversary and annual presentation night.

Court 1 transformed from the place of so many great on-court battles to a place of great celebration. The stage, sound system, the bar and the flurescent bar tables made the Falcons family feel more like they were in Vegas than at Waverley Stadium, which was kind of fitting for some.

The silent auction was bigger and better than ever, the basketballs were flying around in courts 5 and 6, and a few people definitely gathered around the club room TV to watch some sort of football game.

The sights and sounds from the big screen were equally spectacular and you can catch some of the great videos prepared by Shane Palmer below, as well as some pictures from the night of the Falcons Nest, and its members, looking absolutely magnificent. Former Falcons player Nic T (Nick and Daniel Music) was electric as the DJ for the night.

The big crowd got to enjoy a recount of the association's history, which was capped off with Paul Christensen and Carol Kingston receiving life memberships.

Of course a night like this doesn't just happen, it takes a lot of work. The director of the whole evening was Shane Palmer, he was the driving force behind the planning of the evening, and stepped up on the night the MC the event, looking very sharp in an electric blue number.

Shane has been able to rely on the assistance of his family to help the smooth running of the evening for going on 10 years now and they deserve a massive thanks. The WBA staff have also been there to assist, and the Box Hill event management were outstanding, particuarly Ciara and Liam.

The Falcons family also came through in a big way, with a volunteer from each and every team chipping in on the night to help out, and a few loyal volunteers continuing to offer their assistance each year.

Finally there were the award winners, all well deserving in their own ways and very hard for coaches to decide. A full list of these is included below.
