Winning weekend for Big V Falcons

The Falcons Big V Men and Women both enjoyed winning weekends, although not without a scare, in Round 2.

The Men headed out west to take on Werribee on Saturday Night and took care of business with a 13 point over the Devils. The Falcons were able to get the road win despite the absence of NBL Centre Matt Hodgson, who is on a tour in China with the Adeliade 36ers. The Falcons hope to get Hodgson back in time for this weekend's games.

On Sunday the Falcons Nest saw the Eltham Wildcats drop by for the first Sunday Double-Header of the season.

The Wildcats women held a first half lead in the opening game, but the Falcons' class showed through after the main break as the home team recorded their first win of the season.

The second game of the Double Header was an absolute ripper as the Falcons Men couldn't put the WIldcats away in regulation. A tough three at the buzzer from the Wildcats sent the game into an extra session, however it was the Falcons who prevailed in overtime to take their record to a perfect 3-0.

Round 3 looms as another exciting one at the Falcons Nest. The State Championship Men play a rare Saturday Night home game against the Hawthorn Magic, tipping off at 8:15pm. The action continues on Sunday with a Youth Double Header, VYC Women at 12:30pm vs Hume City, followed by the VYC Men taking on Keilor at 2:30pm.
