Big V 2018 Coaches
30/11/2017

The Waverley Falcons are gearing up for a big 2018 in Big V, appointing coaches to take each team to the highest level.

Teams and players have already begun preparations for the season, hitting the training court determined to be ready to fire come March.

Falcons Director of Coaching Elias Palioyiannis will continue coaching the State Championship Men after reaching the 2017 Grand Final, he will also taker charge of the Youth League Men's program.

Assisting the Championship Men will be Dave Wyatt, who spent some time as Head Coach of Youth League Men last season, and experienced assistant George Delgiannis, moving across from the women's program. The Youth Men's assistants will be Daniel O'Neill and Stuart Neville, both experienced Big V assistants with significant playing resumes to boot.

The big change in the State Championship Women will see Matt Bongetti take the reigns, Matt's playing career saw him make a lasting impact at the SCM level and he has transitioned seemlessly into coaching. Matt's assistants will be Under 18 Girls Head Coach Alan Miller, and former sharpshooter Jay Allen, who has over a decade's Big V playing experience.

Brendon Gordon will once again lead the Youth Championship Women, who made great strides last season, Ian Griffiths and Damien Landini return for another season as assistants, and Paul Christensen makes his return to the Falcon Nest as an assistant as well.

The teams will continue to work hard up until the break, and return in January to prime themselves for a big year.
