Under 16.1 Boys make Adelaide Grand Final

Among the many teams who enjoyed positive weekends over at the Norwood Easter Classic in Adelaide were the 16.1 Boys. The young men made it all the way through to the Grand Final, with some good wins along the way. Team Manager Karl Langkau reflected on the weekend:

Thanks to Dave, all the parents, and all the boys for a great tournament.

Making the Grand Final was a great effort and although we got beaten the intensity and effort never dropped.

Starting off with two wins was a tremendous effort and the size of those wins (10 points against McKinnon, and 20 points against Norwood) was what ultimately got us through to the qualifying final. Blackburn was a disappointing loss and Keilor were always going to be hard to beat. So 2 wins 2 losses in regular games.

A fabulous all round team effort against Blackburn in the Qualifying final, gave us another crack at Keilor in the Grand Final.

We let them get away from us in the first half but lifted the effort and intensity in the second half to match them, ultimately going down 76-56.

All in all a great weekend.
